I KNOW A GREAT MAN

Robert Green Ingersoll defines a great man as, "A torch in the darkness, a beacon in superstition's night, an inspiration and a prophecy".

Paul Valery defines a great man as, "One who leaves others at a loss after he is gone".

B.R. Ambedkar views a great man to be, "Different from an eminent one in that he is ready to be the servant of the society".

In the 1,001 definitions and perspectives of greatness and great men, there is none that is more encompassing, absolutely accurate than the quintessence of greatness itself - Alhaji Nurse Comrade Abubakar Abudullahi Kaoje, whose character mirrors not just absolute greatness but perfection at its best.

Alhaji Nurse Comrade Abubakar Abudullahi Kaoje is the Executive Director Kebbi State School of Nursing and Midwifery. What is most surprising, shocking as well greatness-affirming is that in just 10 months of being in office, he has recorded a huge number of achievements and carried out a lot of student-enhancing projects that one is tempted to say, he has done more than previous reigns put together.

First he renovated the antique ICT complex to the beauty it currently is and made provision for 100 new computers. This single act has elevated the school to meet other globally enhanced institutions and aided in its ranking amongst other institutions.

He has further proven to be caring and considerate by listening to the wails of admission denied aspirants of previous years and increasing the intake capacity: School Of Nursing (SON) who had her admission quota at 50 intakes per session is now 75, School Of Midwifery (SOM) who also had hers at 50 is now 60 intakes per session. This has and will go a long way in curbing the problem of favoritism, nepotism over merit system affecting the admission process in several higher institutions in Nigeria, as well earn worthy applicants their dream.

A leader who has in the months of his reign served more than ruled, as B.R. Ambedkar puts is, "...the servant of the society" paying heed to the moans of discomfort from the female hostelers, thereafter restructuring the hostel to the comfy edifice it is now. A man whose concerns are to build up an aura conducive for learning at the same time living healthy. Ensuring a constant and effective supply of the basic amenities like water, in hostels and around the school.

Passionate is he about the well-being of students, recognizing the rights of student in which many institutions' heads fault in, he has involved the SUG in the decision making process in all student-related matters. All in the bid to achieve a more student-friendly environment. And to remind students in the setting of a school, they are a side of a coin as him and his staff are the other.

With deep concern for his environment, he has made it a point of duty to renovate antique student affairs' buildings in order that they become perfect for the service it renders. Take the adminstrative block for example, which doesn't look like anything it was before he came.

Following his renovation of the ICT complex and the addition of 100 computer sets to the number it had, he has taken registrations to another level, changing the face entirely to a more globalized platform where students from the comfort of their homes, hostels, anywhere can register, access their profiles through the several portals made available, with simply an Internet access on their mobile phones or laptops. This has eradicated the erstwhile overly bureaucratic and complex process in manual registrations and the endless queues the institution was known for, thus making it a swift, simple and less stressful process.

Alhaji Nurse Comrade Abubakar Abudullahi Kaoje is not just the average leader. He goes beyond the "Sit and watch them do the work" leader, or the "Delegate all responsibilities to junior staff" leader, he is the "Talk and act" leader, the kind whose activeness, dedication and commitment are enough motivation to his staff. He is a humanitarian - a man who can't catch an injustice and not do something or ignore the sweats of a struggling staff. This is evident in the charitable act of financially supporting academic staff undergoing training.

Alhaji Nurse Comrade Abubakar Abudullahi Kaoje as part of his numerous achievements in a span, has been able to secure full accreditation for the school, which the school had not since her inception. His actions have earned the school full certification and credibility. This suggests that his vision is to take Kebbi State School of Nursing and Midwifery to a height it has never been before.

It is important to note that prior to his appointment as Executive Director, he was and still is the Chairman of National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives - Kebbi State Chapter, in which he has done and still does incredibly well on the seat. How he is able to manage both seemingly overwhelming tasks and still perform amazingly in both is enough justification to his greatness and commitment.

If only Nurse Abubakar was around during the time Robert Green Ingersoll defined a great man as, "A torch in darkness..." his image would have been the first to pop up in Robert's mind as a perfect illustration to his view of a great man. Because Nurse Abubakar is a light and more. He is an illuminator, a torchbearer and he has chosen to extend the light to Kebbi State School of Nursing and Midwifery and it is blatant enough that we clearly do not deserve him. But we honour his presence. We are grateful and thankful for his unrelenting show of concern. There has never been better gesture towards this school, ever since his appointment as Director. And we can beat our chests right now with utmost confidence that in the following months, "Kebbi State School of Nursing and Midwifery" under the supervision of Alhaji Nurse Comrade Abubakar Abudullahi Kaoje, would be something else entirely. Something better than it already is now. Something best. That would produce the finest sets of Nurses thereby improving the health sector in Northern Nigeria, Nigeria and the world at large.

One sunny afternoon. I came back from school, only to notice a crowd in front of my house. I've lost my beloved mother, my jewel. I was young then. She did advise and train me a lot especially in making amends to my mistakes.

She did express how handsome I am even when others say I am ugly.

It was like a nightmare that I never thought of it coming to pass. I was dumbfounded,  thinking about how I am going to live well without my mother. Unfortunately, I had lost my father some years back.

Some days after the death of my beloved mother, my step mother took me to live with her. She told me a lot, assuring me she would act like my  biological mother but black shall never resemble white, so it's written in the book.

One day, my step mother woke me up in the middle of the night, she told me about the property of my mother in her possession. She promised to will the property in my name when I'm through with my education.

Few days after, on coming  back home from school, I couldn't find my step mother at home anymore. She had run away with all the documents of property belonging to my mother. I couldn't believe my eyes. How comfortable would I had been, having my mother alive. Uncontrollable tears rushed down my eyes. I sat down, thinking of where to start a new chapter, without any plan, without any solid backbone again.

I stayed homeless for four years, slept in any place manageable. I spent my life without adequate food and other provisions. I ate anything I saw around me. No more education because there was nobody to sponsor that.

Some couple of years after, I was kidnapped by some unidentified guys and they took me to another state for ritual but luckily for me, I was able to escape.

Someone who saw me after the escape asked about the situation I was, seeing how unpleasant I appeared.
He accepted me to move in with him.

He provided me with food and a cool place to rest. I narrated my ordeal to him and he sympathised with me. He also promised to take care of me.

His wife wasn't around, she travelled abroad. He told me how good and caring his wife was and how she has supported him financially in his business which made him successful.

Some days after, he came back from office at night telling me his wife will arrive the following morning. I was so elated and I eagerly anticipated his wife's arrival.

The next day, when his wife came back, I sat on a chair in the sitting room. When she entered the house, I found it hard to believe that whom the man referred to as his wife was my step mother who ran away with my mother's property.

It is neither an exaggeration nor an understatement that USMANU DANFODIYO UNIVERSITY is the most peaceful university In the sub-Saharan Africa, this prestigious university was established in the year 1975, which means it is 43years old.

My first unforgettable experience was coming from my home town Ilorin, a journey of about 600km which should be covered in a maximum of 7 hours but took us 17hours to reach Sokoto, the seat of caliphate. The journey was endless to the extent that I started thinking may be we were traveling to heaven.

The road is also terrible, most especially the Niger-Kebbi road, anyone who only know Nigeria in TV will never believe we were traveling to another place in the same Nigeria. But God has saved us from the misfortunes of the bad road.

We arrived Sokoto during the harmattan season when everything would be be cold. I used to wear 3 clothes including sweater, socks, hand gloves but can't explain how I catched cold. The worst is, when the sun rise you will feel as if you're close to hell.

On my first day, when I was going for my letter of confirmation of admission, I saw a lady decently dressed in native attire and I asked her to direct me to the venue but unfortunately she misdirected me to hostels from A-classes.

It is in UDUS that you will receive lectures from 8am to 6pm and you'll be left with no option than to spend the first half if not full night in class battling with mosquitoes trying to assimilate what was thought in class.

The first day I attempted to go for night reading with my roommates is the first day I felt the dawn breeze just like the dusk rays. To my surprise all the classes we intended to use were full of students reading as if we were in the time of examination that's when I understand our motto which enjoins us to read.

Coping with the harsh weather of the new environment, language and culture is Another thing that I'm still battling with, some things that are normal in my locality are abnormal in the seat of caliphate.

Though I'm not a biological science student, In my hometown flies live in toilets and odor environments but to my surprise, the early morning flies here, the Afternoon flies and the evening flies are just like part-time students.

From my stay in UDUS, I discovered that there are different classes of students coming to night classes; the serious students that come to read, the unserious that come to play games and disturb others and the less-serious that come to read with ladies.

To my surprise, there are certain set of people that only come to steal.

Also, in the school we live with some local children called Yaro boys and yarinya girls most of them are not going to school, they sale 'piyo water', meaning called water, Awara(cheese), jeda(peanut), labido(dates) and some other things. Some of them beg while some help students in domestic chores to get money. Though we have some 'advanced Yaro boys' that often attack students with axe in the night to collect phones and valuables.

It is in our prestigious university that I really saw a Vice Chancellor who
engages students in decision making and always implement the decision of the students, in the beginning I thought his name is Baba Mai calendar as they fondly say until when I got to understand that he manages calendar to suit students schedule.

In my first year in UDUS,  I learnt to be punctual, humble and dress decently according to the unwritten laws of Hausa land.

May God guide and bless our stay in UDUS with our desired class of degree.

I think it's high time we stop engaging in this inhumane acts and be in absolute support of any movement that discourages domestic violence and sexual harassment in our homes and society at large.

To put an end to this barbaric happenings, it is necessary to start from grass to grace which is our homes where all this stems from, the home is where the goodness in a child could be determined, if a child is good or bad, the home is where people point at, so also, for a child to be good he or she must be well brought up from a very humble and good family back ground.

It is amazing how huge the level of its occurrence and indulgence had grown, despite the truth that its a grievous sin, people still disregard the ill  reputation attached to it, also if not now I think justice for it should be considered seriously because if not, many people will keep engaging in that kind of unlawful act which is domestic violence and sexual harassment.

And more like an adage which says; "A country where there's no law there's no sin".

The silence about domestic violence and other crimes has been an existing tradition of the people of this country, people though harrassed, can't go public with it because they fear to be tagged a despicable name in the society, the government though aware of the rampant ground it has gained has been mute on the issue for those responsible are not affected thus no necessary action follows, perhaps until when it turned  the society into an unsecured place to live and our youths are affected beyond imagination.

Women and children in our society today have been the major victims of sexual harassment for they are the worst victims of rape, abduction and many more. This is certainly causing lots of hazards to the society and needs proper consideration to get it eradicated.

Several researches have shown that domestic violence in both children and women can be passed from one generation to another if drastic measure is not taken, so has recent studies shown that children  involved in domestic violence or sexual harassment are the cause or abusers themselves, it is a surprising thing that in a nation like ours, where there is the human right committee as well as law enforcement agencies, the causes and solutions to these challenging acts have not been exposed and tackled, maybe they're not working up to expectation in our country we urge and plead with the government to make them work properly to be able to fight for the right of all citizens in our society.

In as much as we request for the intervention of the government, our able hands as active citizens is required to put a stop to the issue of domestic violence and sexual harassment.

Countries that  enact and enforce laws in both homes and their communities have lesser cases of domestic violence.

Starting gradually until it becomes worst especially amongst our youths, "an idle hand is the devil's workshop", the truth is our youths of nowadays don't want to engage in any kind of lucrative work because they always expect success even without lifting a finger; "No sweet without sweat". Our youths need to start petty businesses in other to avoid being taken for granted by the devilish rich in our society.

Martin Luther King Jr who said and I quote;
“Violence as a way of achieving racial justice is both impractical and immoral. I am not unmindful of the fact that violence often brings about momentary results. Nations have frequently won their independence in battle but in spite of temporary victories, violence never brings permanent peace.”

Nothing good can be  achieved with domestic violence because violence is never the answer to any progressive movement in our homes and societies. I don't seem to understand why people always want to engage in domestic violence and sexual harassment, whether it brings about change or make people better captures my curiosity. Do we even know that this violence is of two types?

Physical Violence: This is a physical combat which happens as a rusult of misunderstanding between two parties like between a man and mostly a woman, ranging from shoving, beating and insulting each other.

Sexual Violence: This is very rampant in our society and country today and it has lead to many things like sexual harassment, rape, and sexual abuse, to avoid this destructive act, one must
break the silence.

Don't be too panic to condone violence. Always try to raise an alarm when it happens at home or any other place.

Know the law and when to use the laws, so that when it happens you could know who will be your rescue.

In addition empower women and girls financially and educationally to protect themselves, it is very essential to look into this by addressing the source and perpetrator of violence, this can happen by giving our women proper orientation about the effects of violence and the cause. This could reduce the rate of violence that happens in our country generally.

In conclusion, know your right as a woman, always know your rights as a woman in the society, know that you are to be subjected to change not to destruction, join at list a humanitarian social club or group around your community that will broaden your knowledge.

Wherever you go to university and whatever you choose to study, there are five types of tutor you’re almost guaranteed to meet over the length of your course.

If the lecture theater was completely empty and they could just spend the hour doing their own thing they’d actually be more than happy.  Whether you pass or fail the module, they really have no interest.

3. The Unbelievably Attractive One:
Academia has a somewhat old-fashioned reputation, and you might imagine that all your lecturers are going to be over-the-hill.

In fact, you’re almost guaranteed to come across one who has both brains and beauty, with rock star good looks which seem wholly out of place.

They appear to be ridiculously well-qualified for someone so young, and you’ll find they run some of the most well-attended lectures and seminars in the whole department.

Fair warning though: it may be difficult to concentrate in this tutor’s classes, lest you get lost in their eyes.


4. The Strict One:
The Strict Tutor is like the Happy Eccentric, but with none of the fun.  They care about their subject too much to let you make a mockery of it through failure, so they will push and push you almost to breaking point.

You will never get top marks from them because only they get top marks, so expect essays returned covered in red pen and vaguely sarcastic remarks.  Don’t bother trying to please them.  You’ll never be good enough.

5. The One Who Still Thinks They’re a Student:
Maybe they got into tutoring because they never wanted to give up the university life, but there’s always one who still seems to think he or she is in with the students.

They often pop up in the nearby pub or, worse still, when you’re out with mates on a Saturday night.  They’re also active on every social media platform and act like you could still be best friends, but every time you see them you cringe on their behalf.

There’s at least one in every department of every university, so if you haven’t met them yet, you still have a lot to look forward to.

Picking up a book to study is as simple as ABC. Studying it for long hours is a little bit difficult. But, to study long for hours without losing concentration? That is where the big problem lies.

This has been a cause for alarm for many students and even the working class guys. Some persons go as far as taking all sort of drugs just to study for a long time without sleeping off or getting tired. Most times, these drugs exacerbate the issue rather than ameliorating it.



It is no news that many students cannot study up to two hours at a go. Some lose concentration after 40 minutes of study.

The effect of the above mentioned challenges is the continuous increase in the failure rate of students in both internal and external examinations. This is a major cause for alarm and requires urgent attention.

Proven Tips To Study For Long Hours And Pass Your Exams
1. Relax First:
To study when you are stressed out is the beginning of casualty.  Take time to rest and regain some level of energy before you stylishly go into another serious mental process. There is no way you can concentrate or study for long hours when you are tired. Rest is important. If you do not relax, you will collapse. Rest first!


2. Eat well:
A hungry man will definitely get angry. You need a simple diet before embarking on the journey of serious study.

In fact, hunger is a major factor that makes every course boring. Even the pen you are using becomes boring to you as well. Just try to eat something light before study. OK?



3. Create A Reading Map:
Map out the areas you wish to cover for that day. Say to yourself, “I must finish this part before I stop”. Setting goals increase your study rate by ten fold (It is a rocket loader).

4. Choose a Niche:
Don’t be told. Choose the environment best conducive for you. It might be in your room, in the library or at the market. Just make sure you are ok with it.

5. Encourage the subject:
When the subject or course is boring, there is chance that you cannot study it for long hours. But there are ways you can make the course interesting. There are ways you can actually make boring course interesting; some of the ways are:

Looking for the interesting part in the subject no matter how little it may be.
Taking short breaks and coming back to continue the topic fresh.
Using simple memory games (mnemonic devices) to remember difficult parts of the course.
Study the course with a friend.
Create a group chat to discuss the subject.


6. Be Totally Engaged:
Nothing makes you study for long hours like engagement. As much as you can, pay serious attention to what you are reading. Try to keep yourself engaged by jotting down points, explaining the subject to yourself, Solving problems and saying no to external distractions for a while.

7. Entertain Yourself:
When it seems you are about to sleep off or the course seems boring again, entertain yourself in any of the following ways:

Reply your messages.
Play your favorite song
Quickly play game.
Watch a short video/movie
Then, go back to work. This strategy works wonders.


8. Group Study:
Studying in group not only make you remember 80% of everything you read, but also makes you read for a longer time.

9. Switch Location:
Walking round even as you study can put distractions aside and make you study for a very long time. Try this and let me know if it works for you…

10. Forget the Heart-Break:
If someone broke your heart or you have any other thing bordering you, make you to put them aside and focus on your study. Thinking about the events that occurred will really make you lose concentration. After studies, you can go back to that.

Another benefit of consistent reading is that, you never forget anything in the exam hall. By all means, avoid scattered reading style. Let your books know your study time-table so as to prepare on your behalf.

2. Alternating approach:

This is the style of reading different materials simultaneously. Reading one text for long makes it boring. When the text is boring, your brain doesn’t retain much of the information anymore.

If you plan to study for six hours, make sure it is not only one material you are studying. An exception to this is when it is exam period. Trust me, it pays.

Still remember MR NIGER D? this is what I call shortcode. Break the texts down and create beautiful shortcodes to remember them.

Also, you can use your own words (the ones you can remember) to represent certain things you have read. Abbreviations make life easier.

Remember, yesterday’s information cannot help you in today’s reality.

5. Effective use of Adrenaline:

This is the good news about examinations. As the exam gets closer, your adrenaline boosts. This implies that, you can easily understand and remember much of what you read at that time.

Take the advantage of that to revise all your courses. Trust me, you will not regret it.

6. Using past questions:

I call past questions the prophecy of you exam questions. Try as much as possible to always study along with past questions. This will introduce or put you in the exam condition.

7. Using lecture as bet:

You have heard or use words like “Mr Jude doesn’t set these kind of questions” or “this question can not come out in the exam”. This is where your ability to program lecturers come in.

You have been attending the class therefore, you should be able to get revelation from every line of lecture he drops.

8. Sincere Analysis:

JAMB CAPS ACTIVATED

This to notify candidates seeking admission into various tertiary institutions for the 2018/2019 academic session that the JAMB CAPS have been activated for the admission exercise.

This means that candidates can now monitor their admission status and easily know when they have been offered an admission.

Once a candidate has been offered admission, such candidate is required to do either of two things; to accept the admission or to reject it. 

Once you accept the admission, your admission quest is over as you will no longer be available for other schools' admission consideration. On the other hand, if you reject the admission, you become available to other schools who have free admission slots for admission consideration.

It is important to note also that candidates who have been offered admission on JAMB CAPS are to equally print their admission letter after accepting the admission, as they will likely need this during clearance and registration in the school that they have been admitted.

We therefore advise candidates to closely monitor their admission status on JAMB CAPS so as to do the needful as soon as possible.

Some schools may not even publish list of admitted candidates on their own portal or notice board. So for candidates that applied for admission in such schools, the only way to know when they have been offered admission is to check their admission status on JAMB CAPS.

KEBBI STATE GOVERNMENT SPEAKS ON PAYMENT OF TUITION FEES

NUKESS Appreciates Gov. Bagudu Urges Him To Accelerate Payment Of Tuition For Outstanding Institutions

The National Union Of Kebbi State Students has on Wednesday, 15/08/2018 at a press conference organized by the Ministry for Higher Education on the achievements of the governor in tertiary education sector appreciated the Kebbi State governor, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for paying the registration fees of Kebbi students at home and diaspora.

In his words, the Chairman of the Union, comrade Marwan Umar Gwamba commended the efforts of the Governor and implore the state government to settle that of other institutions in time, he said;

"I will like to commend the efforts of Kebbi State Government under Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for paying the registration fees of Kebbi state students, this is a commendable effort and we have to appreciate him, however, there are other institutions outstanding and they keep asking us their fate, sir we want to know their status?"

The honorable commissioner in response to the question replied that the payment is in batches, 31 files were submitted, 14 were approved considering there needs and others are on the process of approval and will be settled before the end of August.

"Tell them we are aware of that, the state government is doing the payment in batches and theirs will be addressed soon". He added.

The delegates of the Union at the conference were; The vice chairperson, Fatima Abdullahi, Abdulrahim Muhammad, the Financial Secretary, Umar Faruk Gujiya, the Treasurer, Mujitapha Faruk Makera the Director of Protocols and Haruna Tijjani the Welfare director among dignitaries.

UDUSOK REGISTRAR SPEAKS ON 2018/19 ADMISSION PROCESS

The Registrar, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Mallam Nurudeen Abubakar Bello has made some clarifications concerning the 2018/2019 admission exercise during an interview with One of the campus press board, PEN PRESS correspondents in his office on Tuesday 16th August, 2018

He confirmed that the minimum cutoff mark for 2018/2019 admission is 160 which is in line with the Federal Ministry of Education directives but admission depends on the requirements for each course of study

"It is true that the minimum cutoff mark is 160, but that does not mean your admission is automatic. 160 is just the mark required for consideration as each course has their admission cutoff mark which was released earlier" .

He further made some clarifications on acronyms RM, RC, ELDS.
The University catchment Areas (RC) are ten; Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Jigawa, Niger, Nassarawa and Kwara. The Education Less Developed States are Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa, Taraba, Borno, Yobe, Plateau, Benue, Kogi, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Cross River and FCT. Meanwhile the National merit (RM) covers states outside ELDS and RC.

He stressed that the admission process will reflect the National Education policy which stated 60:40 of science and sciences related courses against Arts and Humanities and no Direct admission for professional courses.

"There won't be admission for DE applicants seeking professional courses like Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Lab, Radiography,Engineering,Law  among others" He said.

When asked about the the timeframe for the release of admission, he assured that the admission will be released before the resumption for 2018/2019 session.

"Normally, we conduct registration of new students before returning students. So, we conduct admission before resumption" he assured.

He urged all applicants to upload their 'O' Level result on the JAMB portal so as to be considered for admission.

"With the new JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS), all applicants should upload their 'O' Level results on their JAMB profile for smooth admission consideration"

Speaking on the possible conduct of Post-utme
"The University management is yet to decide whether to conduct it or not, but last year, the school management did not conduct it.

He finally enjoined applicants to shun scammers as the University do not compromise admission process.

"Applicants don't need to know anybody before they get admission, once you meet the requirements it is the prerogative of the University to consider you.

"Applicants should visit the University admission portal, admissions.udusok.edu.ng , for any updates" he concluded

SSU RELEASE 2018/19 UTME CUT OFF MARK

This is to bring to the notice of all candidates who applied for admission into the Sokoto State University, Sokoto through UTME and DE and chose the University as their most preferred Institution (i.e. first choice), with a minimum score of 160 and above, that the online screening exercise for admission into the University for 2018/2019 Academic Session will commence from Tuesday 7^th to Thursday 30^th August, 2018:

Registration Procedure:

The procedure is as follows:

Step 1: Visit the Screening Portal at www.screeening.ssu.edu.ng

Step 2: Enter your JAMB Registration Number as username and UTME score as password for UTME candidate. While DE candidate should use JAMB Registration Number as username and password.   

Step 3: Click on ‘Update Data’ link to update your phone number and email address.

Step 4: Generate and print your screening payment invoice of the sum of Two Thousand Naira (N2,000), only containing Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) Number, thereafter proceed  to any commercial bank nationwide to make payment or click on ‘Pay Now’ link to pay using any of the instant Remita payment channels.

Step 5: After payment, login to your screening account again and update your biodata, academic records and other required information.

Step 6: Upload your O’level/A’ level result (PDF format of not more than 50KB). 

Step 7: Print your acknowledgement slip and payment receipt for record purposes.

JAMB CHANGE OF COURSE AND INSTITUTION BEGINS.

The JAMB change of course and institution for 2018 has begun. The board has directed all candidates who wish to change their course/ institution to proceed to the board’s site and follow the procedure as displayed.

The process is currently ongoing and costs N2, 500 only and can only be processed online, just like every other process of the board.

All candidates who wish to effect changes on either their course institution or their bio-data can proceed to do so at the closest JAMB CBT accredited centre.

You can also correct your Bio-data which include your name, date of birth, gender, State and Local Government of origin.

Before you proceed to do that, please make sure you do the following;

-Be sure of the Course/Institution you would like to make changes. Verify if the course is available in the school using the JAMB Brochure.

-Ensure verify that the school you are changing to does not usually have a cut off mark higher than your score.

- Ensure you select a Course/Institution that is in line with your subject combination to avoid being screened out during your school's admission screening exercise.

Process Flow

Step 1- Log into your jamb profile
Step 2- open the menu tab on your jamb profile
Step 3- Click Register, under register a drop box will appear showing UTME correction of data
Step 4- Click it and follow the steps to pay either online or bank. You can make your payment online via JAMB portal. If you are having difficulties doing that, you can pay to the bank. Step 6- After paying N2500 at the bank plus additional bank charge of N100 naira, proceed to either the closest JAMB office or a JAMB accredited centre to complete the process. An additional fee will be charged for the service.

Note: You can carry out all of the above process at an accredited centre.

Also note the following;

- You can change one or all your courses/institutions at the same time.

- Once the form is submitted, you can no longer make any changes again except for change of course and institution that can be done twice.

 -There may be a limited number of schools or courses you can change to, so be sure to have 3 or 4 options, just in case the one you want to change to is not available.

- The cost for the change of course and Data correction is N2,500.

- You can use the one time payment of N2, 500 to change your institution, course, name, date of birth, State and Local Government of origin.
